These Charles Street buildings are all part of the Fields Corner Granites project. We wanted to assure that the buildings all maintained the facade of these red brick 3 family houses. This residential street was blighted by existence of an illegal auto body shop for many years. Fields Corner CDC as part of its commitment to the community, worked with the city to close this operation.

When Viet Aid was looking for its first in the nation Vietnamese American Community Center, we were delighted to be able to assist them in identifying and acquiring the land of the former auto body shop on Charles Street for their new center.

Together with our Ditson Street Senior House, the Vietnamese American Community Center provides stability for this neighborhood.
