These grand old buildings along Geneva Ave had been built as rental housing over one hundred years ago. The decades had not been kind to them. The street had fallen into disrepute and the properties were largely vacant and all substandard.

Activist residents in the immediate area worked with the Fields Corner CDC to acquire these properties and bring them back on line.

The green space between the two main buildings had been planned for additional new housing construction. However, bowing to neighborhood concerns, The Fields Corner CDC turned the area into a passive park which can be accessed by the immediate neighbors.

An arborist has identified a large tree in this green space as being a white oak of well over 200 years. We hope it will continue to provide shade to our residents for another 200 years.
